2008 Shera Award Winners!

Eric Meyers, Karen Fisher & Betty Marcoux won the 2008 ALA Jesse H. Shera Award for their LISR article, "Studying the Everyday Information Behavior of Tweens: Notes from the field." Read more here.

 

IBEC will examine benefits of free access to computers in public libraries.

IMLS announced that it will enter into a cooperative agreement with the University of Washington to conduct a national study on the social, economic, personal, and professional value of free access to computers at public libraries. Read more here.

New NSF Study!

“Talking with You: Exploring Interpersonal Information-seeking” was recently funded by the National Science Foundation. The study explores why people turn to other people for everyday information ranging from finding new jobs and lower mortgages, to healthcare, housing, childcare, social activities, and other aspects of daily life.
